Carnival Celebration has an excellent gym with a line up of LifeFitness cardio machines (treadmills and ellipticals) that face the sea through full-length windows on port Deck 6. These machines can be programmed for virtual “runs” in a wide range of settings, from the rocky trails of British Columbia to the shores of Maui.

Fellow guests told me the gym can get rather crowded during the peak morning hours. Unlike their fleetmates, Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras both skip the soaring, multi-deck-high central atrium and replace it with a three-deck-high ocean-facing atrium along the ship's starboard (right-hand) side. The area was revamped and renamed Celebration Central area on this ship, decorated with color-changing lights designed to look like confetti. Guest services and shore excursions have been moved out of this central area to a more out-of-the-way spot on Deck 8 aft.

The sight lines are ok for looking directly at the stage but not always for some of the show’s aerial stunts. So even if you can find a seat, it may be partially obstructed. We saw guests waiting in line for hours or saving the open seats on the higher levels to have a chance to see these fantastic performances.
We also learned about the Original 17’ by 7’ full-height etched glass, nickel, and mahogany partition wall with 24 TSS Mardi Gras casino windowpanes, separating the bar from the promenade. However, one really cool new feature for the kiddos is Space Cruisers.
The pool isn’t big, but sits right over the water. When we watched the popular circus show, we showed up 20 minutes early and there wasn’t a seat to be found. Instead, we watched from the extreme left of the stage and just stood the entire time. (In fact, they actually put on the show twice a night for two nights to accommodate everyone.) And even the cabin bathroom felt like the smallest we’ve seen on a cruise ship. Another thing that stood out were the food options.
